A Scientist's Life in Eve

Increasing through-put and datacore update

by on Jun.06, 2012, under Eve online

So with a spate of recent orders and generally good sales, I’ve purchased another Capital Drone Bay blueprint so I can increase the production of carriers, as that particular item is the choke-point in building carriers.

The other investment decision is now revolving around Dreadnought blueprints, and which (if any) to buy, and then whether to buy researched to save time, or unresearched blueprints to save ISK.

Recruitment is, as always, fraught with people trying to get a “cyno alt” into Corp, but we’ve had some very interesting contacts over the past few days who look like a really good fit for the Corp, and so I’m hopeful that will work out.

Regional buy orders are performing well still, although a few people still seem intent on pushing the mineral prices up with small buy orders for above the general level.  To me it looks like a combination of people not doing the basic research before putting the buy order up, and so over-pricing it, and then some people trying to drive the market up by a series of smaller buy orders hoping to move the larger orders up in buy price.  So far it’s not really working, and hopefully that will remain the case.

I had a very brief evemail chat with somebody the other day about datacore prices.  They have several toons, each with several research agents – lots more than I have, and overall so far they commented that datacore prices appear to have dropped slightly.  He suggested (and I agree) that this is most likely due to people getting into a bit of a panic and dumping their datacores onto the market, breaking the usual activity cycle.

Things will take a while to work themselves out, so I plan to contact him again in a few weeks time for an update, and compare it with my own situation and then report back here.
