Increasing through-put and datacore update
by A scientists life in Eve on Jun.06, 2012, under Eve online
So with a spate of recent orders and generally good sales, I’ve purchased another Capital Drone Bay blueprint so I can increase the production of carriers, as that particular item is the choke-point in building carriers.
The other investment decision is now revolving around Dreadnought blueprints, and which (if any) to buy, and then whether to buy researched to save time, or unresearched blueprints to save ISK.
Recruitment is, as always, fraught with people trying to get a “cyno alt” into Corp, but we’ve had some very interesting contacts over the past few days who look like a really good fit for the Corp, and so I’m hopeful that will work out.
Regional buy orders are performing well still, although a few people still seem intent on pushing the mineral prices up with small buy orders for above the general level. To me it looks like a combination of people not doing the basic research before putting the buy order up, and so over-pricing it, and then some people trying to drive the market up by a series of smaller buy orders hoping to move the larger orders up in buy price. So far it’s not really working, and hopefully that will remain the case.
I had a very brief evemail chat with somebody the other day about datacore prices. They have several toons, each with several research agents – lots more than I have, and overall so far they commented that datacore prices appear to have dropped slightly. He suggested (and I agree) that this is most likely due to people getting into a bit of a panic and dumping their datacores onto the market, breaking the usual activity cycle.
Things will take a while to work themselves out, so I plan to contact him again in a few weeks time for an update, and compare it with my own situation and then report back here.

Datacore prices are down quite a bit and it started best I can tell with panic dumping of Mechanical Engineering Datacores. I remember I was in the traders lounge channel a few days after the patch when a discussion was going on about it on someone dumping a huge load of ME Datacores and spooked the market, ever since then ME Datacores been down along with many others. Before the inferno patch ME Datacores was one the most heavily bought and speculated Datacore.
As for myself I have a total of somewhere close to 6000 Datacores of every kind except Plasma Datacores. I’m not worrying any about it since my Datacore stock have always been for my Invention production use and future use as whatever comes along down the road via CCP. Currently Datacore is in a slump. Will see how things change in 6 months maybe.
