A Scientist's Life in Eve

House cleaning

One of the things I’ve been doing recently – after pretty firm guidance from my CEO – is working through some of the stacks of T2 blueprints we already had “in stock” as it were.

It’s not a quick process.

I’ve talked before about buffers and working capital, but after sitting down with my CEO and talking things through, we agreed that we had too much work in progress.  Discovering that my regional buy orders had resulted in over 1.5 billion units of minerals for me to collect sort of helped the discussions a little too :P

I must admit to having struggled to contain my activities to just clearing the backlog.  I’ve still been inventing T2 cruisers, and also have a few thousand T2 drones that I still need to make the parts for.

It has allowed me to up the level of capital construction though, with my current production list being:

  • Revelation x2
  • Thanatos x3
  • Moros x1
  • Nidhoggur x1
  • Thanatos x2

I still have significant quantities of minerals left, although I need to add some Megacyte and Nocxium, I should have resources to make around another 10 carriers or 5 Dreads.

At this stage, I’m either going to buy a second Capital Drone Bay blueprint to increase the throughput of carriers, or I might invest in a Dread blueprint so I don’t have to keep buying blueprint copies.  Of course, I could do both!

I’m also currently trying to sell a Naglfar for a Corp mate, which hasn’t resulted in a buyer from our Alliance, so I have to now work out how to get it jumped out to a lo-sec system so I can put it up for general sale.

Meantime, I’ve worked out I’ve spent almost all of my in-game time over the past three weeks purely on Corp activities.  I had decided to start a separate savings wallet for an Aeon.  Sadly because of this it’s stalled at 200 million ISK, and this week won’t exactly help either.  Hopefully things in RL will change a bit to allow me to balance my Eve time better and not just jump on, set science and industry jobs, pick some stuff up and run to market.  I’d actually like to spend some time mining / missioning, as well as even going and shooting stuff – after all I’ve jumped out 7 interceptors to play with, which are currently just sitting there gathering dust.

Of course, if anybody wants to donate an Aeon to me, I’d be more than grateful to accept :)
