Burning Jita?
by A scientists life in Eve on Apr.25, 2012, under Eve online
So the Burn Jita event has been supposedly set for Friday 27 April now – what’s the betting it actually starts on Thursday. By saying Friday they now possible force a spike of traffic on Thursday, and could therefore potentially take advantage of that.
As to numbers in system – well before TiDi came into effect, I was in a fight in a system with other 3,200 others. It was horrible and didn’t really work, but the node didn’t crash. If that was before TiDi, is it unreasonable to think that perhaps with TiDi around 4,000 people could be accommodated on the special Jita node?
I’m going to go and try and find out, but I’m guessing Fraps will be a waste of time simply because of the massive lag that will enivatably be in attendance.
As to the supposed OTEC thing – if markets become too unsettled, very bad things happen. If Goons genuinely want to try and ruin the T2 manufacturing market, I have no doubt that bad things will happen.
Also, how many people will now be publically posting nasty things about Goons just to get the attention of their death squad? Perhaps this is why some bloggers have, over the past few weeks and months, magicallly discovered that their game-style isn’t as far from the Goons as they once thought? Cynical? Maybe, but then I have been known to be that way sometimes.

Irregardless of how one my or may not feel about the Goons, they help create content in the continuing evolution of life in New Eden, that i can say for sure.
They do help with content and definately the lol’s but really..who cares….
Goons are throwing a tantrum in Jita…and will run out of hot air sooner rather than later. For all the big talk, it is afterall just that, with just enough ships to troll people into thinking goons have a chance at long term impact to Jita.
All I can say to the goons is…oh puddin…you mad bro?
Cherio
So I don’t get it, are they planning to flood market when they’re done? I can’t imagine this will be anything more than a pale shadow of the Yulai incident.
It’s all just about the lulz I think. Demonstrating that they can do what they like, where they like, and when they like.
Of course they will use the loot they can grab (which based on the number of people there taking stuff is probably much less than they hoped for) to offset their losses, but essentially it was funded by Technetium so really I think it’s more of an illustration their “power” and “prowess”.
Goons always say they’re not here to ruin “the” game, just YOUR game.
I’m with Ardent Defender here – I’m expecting this to become an annual event.
