A Scientist's Life in Eve

Null Sec Lite is no more

by on Sep.19, 2012, under Eve online

Following on from yesterday’s post – things haven’t ended yet, but I won’t be playing Null Sec Lite any more.

Due mostly to the policical situation in our current home (Vale of the Silent), and some other factors added into the melting pot, we’ve decided that staying there was not the best thing for the Corp.

After undertaking some research and putting out various feelers, we have decided to move much deeper into null sec.  In fact, it will be multiple jumps from hi-sec which will certainly make things more interesting.

For me, it is the end of sitting in hi-sec running production and occasionally getting involved in the null sec activities.  This wasn’t due to lack of interest, but purely lack of time.  Hi-sec production activities take time, and it’s far too easy to be lazy and jump in a large slow ship and go and collect materials or move something to market, and then my game time has dwindled to the point I haven’t left myself enough time to log on a couple of miners and shoot some rocks.

That has to stop, and from now on it will do.

I’m now finishing off sorting out the various things we need to take with us to set-up, and am looking at the ships in my hanger, deciding on what would be nice to have and what I need to have.

I’ve also trained up some more cyno alts who will be able to sit in stations, undock and light a cyno and then redock.  They will all have less than 900k skill points, and so if they get podded, who cares.

I’m both nervous and excited about this move – it has such great potential for both great times and potential epic failure.  The main thing is, it’s something new, and after over a year of doing what we were doing, it’s definitely time to try something different, and null sec is where our Corp’s heart lies at the moment.
