A Scientist's Life in Eve

An alternative perspective?

One thing I think we can probably all agree on, is that the media is always biased in some way.  Whether it’s tightly controlled state media in countries with a history of poor human rights, or national newspapers in free countries such as where I live, the United Kingdom.

Don’t get me wrong, the media in the UK isn’t too bad, but you read certain newspapers or watch certain TV channels and know that they are viewing it from a particular angle, and quite often the funding source and/or political influences decide how the news is presented.

Eve is, of course, no different at all!  This blog is written by me.  I view things in a certain way and have opinions that shape my views.  If you accused me of being biased for or against certain things, I would probably only refute your claim if it genuinely was (in my belief) not true.

Eve is fortunate to have such a diverse and vibrant community that chooses to express themselves both inside and outside of the game itself.

It is, therefore with possibly my own bias on the matter to be taken into account, that I read this article on the brand new FOTM news site for Eve, which is setting itself up to be a competitor to the Eve News 24 site.

I’ve written this post after I have stopped laughing at the viewpoint in the article.  Ok I’ll be honest, I’ve still not quite stopped laughing.  Maybe I will do soon.  I won’t really dignify the comments any further with my thoughts, but I think if you look at what the same people (i.e. the CFC) did with small fleets of gank destroyers in the “Burn Jita” campaign, it’s pretty clear what the response should be.
